A group of gunmen has invaded a hotel named 16 HOUR Hotel, Alomilaya area of Ganmo, Ilorin, Kwara state,killing the owner, Kayode Akinyemi(47) and wounded his manager, Emmanuel Olushila Ojo.
SP Okasanmi Ajayi, the Police Public Relatiobs Officer,
Kwara State Police Command,who made the disclosure in a statement in Ilorin on Monday a copy made available to The Reporters said that the tragic event happened Sunday night.
According to him, Ojo was seriously injured and now at General hospital, Ilorin where he is receiving treatment.
” One of the friends of the owner of the hotel, one Ori, who was with him on the day of incident was abducted.
“The Command’s Tactical teams, in conjunction with vigilante and hunters, have since been mobilized to the scene to comb the surrounding bushes for possible rescue of the victim and arrest of the hoodlums.
“The corpse of the victim has been deposited in the General hospital mortuary for authopsy,” the PPRO said.
He qouted Commissioner of Police,CP Tuesday Assayomo, as declaring total lockdown of the area and a result-oriented manhunt for the perpetrators of the heinous act.
The CP added that enough was enough for the criminals, assuring that stringent security action had been put in place to checkmate the activities of the criminal elements in the state.
