Covid-19 : Monarch lauds FG’s pro-activeness

The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has commended the Federal government for its pro-activeness toward preventing coronavirus disease (Covid-19) from entering country.

Sulu-Gambari who spoke at weekend during a special prayer organised in honour of the new Professors from the Ilorin emirate, prayed that the disease which had created global panic should never find its way into the country.

The monarch, however, stressed the need for more advocacy and campaign against the deadly disease.

On Lassa fever Sulu-Gambari expressed options that,“We shall soon overcome the problem of Lassa fever outbreak in Nigeria because it is not part of our culture.”

On education, the traditional ruler it as the major weapon that could help Nigeria out of the its various societal challenges.

He said newly promoted academics had important role to play in mentoring youths in Ilorin Emirate and beyond the shores of the emirate, to tailor their behaviour toward positive thinking in order to reduce youth related problems in the society.

He preached unity among Nigerians in order to overcome the prevailing insecurity in some parts of the country, adding that “only in an atmosphere of peace and harmony that Nigeria can record more growth and development.”

Sulu-Gambari also prayed God to guide Nigerian leaders toward providing leadership quality that would translate into the realisation of the desired prosperity at all the facets of the country.

He urged University authorities to always embark on research that would profer meaningful solutions to the lingering social menace, economic challenges and infrastructure decadence in the country.

Duaglobalnews reports that the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Dr Muhammad Bashir led the prayer, supported by other Islamic clerics in Ilorin, traditional chiefs, groups and associations.
