The twenty one local government areas of kogi state have appropriated over N131 budget for the 2020 fiscal year.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Salami Ozigi, disclosed this in a letter he forwarded to the State House of Assembly, Lokoja.
Reading the correspondence from the ministry on the floor of the House, the Speaker,Prince Mathew Kolawole said the bill had a proposal of recurrent expenditure of over N70 billion while the capital expenditure stood at over N60 billion respectively.
Kolawole expressed optimism that early passage of the bill would fast-track development at the grassroots.
According to the commissioner, the letter to the House was prompted by the absence of elected councils in the state.
Meanwhile, during plenary, the House screened and confirmed Mrs Ohiani Felicity Eneze as a member, Kogi State Judicial Service Commission.
She replaces Onimisi Tokunbo Ajoge who died recently.
