Achievements of GYB @ Ministry of rural development—Commissioner

The Kogi State Commissioner for Rural Development, Mr Daniel Ejibo,says the Yahaya Bello-led administration has not relented in its rural development agenda aimed at making life meaningful for the rural populace in the state.

He stated this on Monday while reeling out the achievements of the state government as it concerns his Ministry, before members of the Federated Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ,Kogi State Council in Lokoja.

He said the general objective of setting up the Ministry of Rural Development was to provide, support and maintain, in collaboration and partnership with government ministries, departments, agencies and other partners.

The partnership,he added also involve essential public facilities and services (such as water and sewer systems, housing, health clinics, rural feeder roads, emergency service facilities and electric power) that would improve the economy, welfare, infrastructure and quality of life in rural areas.

According to the commissioner, the current administration in the state has so far carried many projects which include:

RURAL ELECTRIFICATION
1. Installation of 500KVA/33KV/0.415KV at Igala Unity House
2. Installation of transformer at Inozi/Ageva, Okene LGA.
3. Installation of transformer at Central bank Area I community, Lokoja.
4. Installation of transformer at Kogi State Hajj Commission, Lokoja.
5. The completion of 33KV electricity overhead line extension from Zango-Daji junction to Banda in Kogi State.
6. Supply/procurement of 6Nos. of 500KVA/33KV/0.415KV transformer at MRD Headquarters.
7. Step down of transformers at:
(a) Odokoro in Ijumu LGA
(b) Ileteju/Ogidi in Ijumu LGA
(c) Ekirin Adde in Ijumu LGA
(d) Iyara in Ijumu LGA
(e) Owode/Ogidi in Ijumu LGA
8. Step down of 500KVA/33KV/0.415KV transformer at Ife Olukotun
9. Completion of electrification of Isanlu GRA, Yagba East
10. Electrification project at some communities in Adavi Eba:
(a) Opetu community
(b) Ebachi community
(c) Apachi Adoza community
(d) Irevure Eba community
(e) Ikamani/Adador community

11. Step down of transformer at Karara/Igoti community, Kogi LGA
12. Electrification project at Irepeni/Oziokutu, Adavi LGA
13. Electrification of Araba Salifu, Ajonugbelegu Emewe Opada I & II Community, Abocho, Dekina LGA. Additional Work: Ajakalaga, Okowowolo, Ofoda.
14. Step down and Installation of 500KVA/33KV/0.415KV transformer at Omoko, Kogi LGA.

15. Completion and connection to the National Grid of the following communities in Kogi LGA:
(a) Onzo
(b) Robomi
(c) Kusa
(d) Tazeyin

16. Completion of electrification projct at Irepeni 1 & II communities, Adavi LGA.

RURAL WATER SUPPLY
1. Drilling of one motorized borehole and the provision of 20m3 capacity pressed steel Overhead tank at Agudoko – Okula Aloma.

2. Drilling of one motorized borehole and the provision of 20m3 capacity pressed steel Overhead tank at Abobo, Okehi LGA.

3. Drilling of one motorized borehole and the provision of 20m3 capacity pressed steel Overhead tank at General Hospital Isanlu, Y/East.

4. Drilling of one motorized borehole and the provision of 20m3 capacity pressed steel Overhead tank at Zango Daji, Adavi LGA.

5. Drilling of one motorized borehole and the provision of 20m3 capacity pressed steel Overhead tank at Ikara/Igbogbo, Koton Karfe LGA.

6. Drilling of two points motorized borehole and the provision of 40,000m3 capacity pressed steel Overhead tank at Kogi State Investment Property Housing Estate, Felele (2017 Flood Victim Camp).

7. Drilling of one motorized borehole and the provision of 20m3 capacity pressed steel Overhead tank at Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Lokoja LGA.

8. Drilling of one motorized borehole and the provision of 20m3 capacity pressed steel Overhead tank at Okofi (Kogi KKF).

9. Provision of motorized borehole and 20m3 capacity pressed steel overhead tank and rehabilitation of existing solar borehole at Wada Flood Victim Camp Hostel, Behind Old Poly Quarters, Lokoja, Kogi State.

10. Rehabilitation of broken down Ajenejo/Ajakagwu/Omadene Water Project.

11. Rehabilitation of motorized borehole at Ogah (Yagba West) borehole.

12. Rehabilitation of motorized borehole at Ihima (okehi) borehole.
13. Rehabilitation of motorized borehole at Ogalale (Olamaboro) borehole.

14. Rehabilitation of motorized borehole at Okengwe (Okene) borehole.

15. Rehabilitation of motorized borehole at Flood Victims camp borehole, Lokoja.

16. Rehabilitation of motorized borehole at Omadene Water Project (Dekina LGA).

17. Rehabilitation of motorized borehole at Idi-Oro Ogale Ijumu LGA.
