The Police Command in kogi state has arrested two suspects; Timothy James (38) and Comfort David (44), both of Zaki-Biam, Benue State, who specialise in robbing POS attenders and recovered N43,200 from them.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Police Command in the state, DSP William Aya,made the disclosure in a statement he made available to The Reporters,an online publication, in Lokoja on Friday.
According to him, the operatives attached to intelligence Department of the Command, on Thursday,arrested the two suspects for allegedly robbing their victim;one Jammai Maryam Bashir (23) of N50,200 at her POS business point on Cemetery road, Lokoja at about 0945hrs.
He further said:”They deceived the victim, under the guise of performing deliverance and thereafter robbed her.
“The victim immediately, after regain consciousness, raised alarm that led to the arrest of the duo at Nataco area,on their way to Abuja and recovered the sum of forty three thousand, two hundred naira from them. Effort is ongoing to arrest other members of the syndicate.
“The suspects confessed to the crime, adding that they also robbed in Jalingo, Makurdi and Otukpo.They will be arraigned in court on completion of the investigation”.
