Hunters arrest 4 suspected kidnappers,kill 10 guard dogs in kogi

Nemesis has caught up with with suspected daredevil kidnappers in Kogi state as four of them were arrested and 10 of their dogs killed by professional hunters during a night raid on their camp.

The Reporters gathered that the arrest was effected around Osara, the host community to the new Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) in Okehi Local Government Area of the state during which four of the suspects were arrested.

The arret,led by the Chairman of Okehi Local Government Area of the state, Abdulraheem Ohiare, the online news medium also gathered also led to the destruction of an Indian hemp farm belonging to the criminals.

Intelligence report at the disposal of the online publication showed that the criminals had turned the forest into Indian hemp, farm where they train special breed of dogs, charged with the responsibility of making it impossible for security personnel to penetrate their camp.

However, during the raid, four of the bandits, who specialize in Kidnapping, especially along the Lokoja-Okene High Way were arrested and 10 of their guard dogs killed.

The Reporters recalls that before now, kidnappers and other criminals elements in the state have been having field day on their unsuspecting victims in the three Senatorial districts of the state, leaving some victims dead, some disposed of valuable property and others pay ransom to regain freedom.

Kogi state government says it is not relenting efforts to reduce Kidnapping and other forms of crime and criminality in the state to the barest minimu, as it established three mobile stations in the state in 2020, in conjunction with the police authorities to check the menace, among other measures.

Speaking to Journalists after the operation, the Chairman, Okehi Local Government Area, Abdulraheem Ohiare, warned that “Kogi State is no go area for criminal elements,” noting that the government would continue to hunt down criminals found within the state.

He commended the Governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for his “unrelenting efforts in making Kogi State the safest state in Nigeria today.”
