The outgoing Chairman, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Barr.Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad, has expressed shock over the sudden demise of the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency, Mr. Adnaan Bostaji.
Hajia Fatima Sanda Usara,Head, Public Affairs, NAHCON made the disclosure in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday.
She quoted Muhammad as having expressed the feelingn when he led senior management of the commission on a condolence visit to the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Abuja.
Muhammad, who was accompanied by the incoming Chairman of the commission, Barr. Zikrullahi Hassan,was received by the the Deputy Ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Nigeria, Mr. Muhammad Fauzan.
The outgoing boss said the commission had been thrown into a state of shock over the news of the ambassador’s demise.
He extended condolence, on behalf of NAHCON, to the members of staff the embassy and the family of the late Bostaji over the loss.
Muhammad said that the Late Ambassador would be missed, adding that Bostaji was a wonderful person, diplomatic, caring, had a professional ambiance as well as being a complete gentleman.
The Acting Chairman prayed for the gentle rest of Bostaji’s soul and for the Almighty Allah to grant him Jannatul Firdous.
Earlier, the Deputy Ambassador described the death of the Ambassador as overwhelming, shocking, unexpected but appreciated Muhammad and his team for their prompt condolence visit.
This, he said exemplified the kindness of the Nigerians, their high ethical standard and their high class in identify with the embassy ” in this time of bereavement.”
He also described such step as a kind that was very encouraging, indeed.
Dr Danbaba Haruna of NAHCON’s Visa Unit offered general prayer for the bereaved to bear the loss and for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
