KGSG Distributes Relief Materials to Flood Victims

The Kogi state Commissioner for Environment, Chief Victor Adewale Omofaiye, on Wednesday distributed relief materials to victims of Flood in Lokoja and Kogi Local Government Areas of the state in with the New Direction Blueprint,

The Commissioner promised that the state government would leave no stone unturned in the quest to better the lives of the people in the state, adding that there would more palliatives to cushion the effect of the flood on the affected communities in the state.

He urged the people still residing in flood prone areas to move to government designated camps for victims and support the present administration assuring them that more people- oriented programmes were on the underway to better the lives of the citizens.

The Reporters, an online publication, reports that some of the materials distributed include beddings,bags of rice among others.

The online media outfit gathered that about nine out of the 21 local government areas of the state have been affected by the flood which displaced thousands of families in and outside Lokoja and state and its envions.
