Today 4th October 2020, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria is 58yrs. The University was founded on October 4, 1962, as the University of Northern Nigeria.
The university was later renamed after the Sardauna of Sokoto, Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Bello, the first premier of Northern Nigeria.
At inception, ABU had four faculties comprising 15 departments and 426 total students.
