Troops of the 12 Brigade, in collaboration with operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have arrested a Nigerian Air Force personnel, ACM Anas Muhammed Fakai, for allegedly transporting firearms to Abuja.
Our Correspondent gathered that Fakai, with service number 23/42603, was intercepted at the Kabba Junction in Lokoja at about 10:22 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, while conveying two pump-action guns and one Browning pistol.
A SPECIAL SITREP sighted by our correspondent on Wednesday revealed that the suspect is attached to the 107 Air Maritime Group on Airport Road, Benin, Edo State.
According to security sources,a SPECIAL SITREP simply means Special Situation Report.
It is an official, concise update that provides details about an incident, operation, or ongoing situation among other definitions.
During interrogation, Fakai reportedly confessed that he was delivering the weapons to a Police Constable serving at the Force Headquarters, Abuja as an orderly to a Commissioner of Police at the headquarters.
Fakai also alleged that the firearms were handed over to him by one Inspector Paul, said to be serving in Benin and attached to the Government House, Benin City, for onward delivery to the Abuja-based police constable.
According to SPECIAL SITREP,
investigations into the network behind the arms movement are said to be ongoing.
