Police tactical teams and local vigilantes have launched a search-and-rescue operation for ten persons abducted during a fresh attack on Isapa community near Obbo-Ile Village, Kwara State, on Monday, November 24, 2025.
The Police Command in Kwara State spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, said a distress call was received around 6:30 p.m. after armed attackers, suspected to be herders, stormed the village around 6:05 p.m, shooting indiscriminately, adding that a woman who was wounded in the leg was treated and discharged.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Adekimi Ojo, visited the community for an on-the-spot assessment and met with traditional rulers and local leaders and assured residents that efforts to rescue the abducted victims have been intensified.
The police boss said normalcy has since been restored, with security personnel maintaining surveillance in the area.
