Bago Sends 30 Commissioner Nominees, Including Suspended Council Chairman, to Assembly

The Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has forwarded a list of 30 commissioner nominees, including the suspended Chairman of Bosso Local Government Council, Ladidi Bosso, and former Commissioner for Land and Urban Development, Maurice Magaji,to the Niger State House of Assembly (NSHA) for screening and confirmation.

According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, the nominations were made in line with Section 192(2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).

The statement noted that the nominees emerged after extensive consultations and were selected based on their integrity, competence, and commitment to advancing the rapid growth and development of the state.

Governor Bago was quoted as saying the nominations reflect his administration’s commitment to inclusiveness, merit, and the consolidation of the New Niger Agenda through effective service delivery across all sectors.

The nominees are expected to undergo the required security checks and clearances. The government congratulated them and urged them to remain dedicated to the administration’s vision of transforming Niger State into a model of sustainable development and responsible governance.

The 30 commissioner nominees are as follows:

Agaie: Muhammad Qasim Danjuma

Agwara: Barr. Mohammed Bello

Bida: Dr. Hadiza Asabe Mohammed, Sulaiman Umar, Dr. Murtala Bagana

Borgu: Abdulrazaq Mu’azu Jakada

Bosso: Umar Rabe Sanda, Ladidi Bawa Bosso

Chanchaga: Barr. Nasiru Mu’azu, Faruk Umar Audi

Edati: Jacob Baba Yisa

Gbako: Abdullahi Adamu Mamagi

Gurara: Haruna Abubakar Magaji

Katcha: Adamu Abdullahi Sheshi

Kontagora: Lawal Maikano, Phalal Mohammed Bako

Lapai: Mu’azu Hamidu Jantabo

Lavun: Mustapha Ndajiwo

Magama: Prof. Muhammad Yakubu Auna
