The Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Alumni Class of 1994/1995 has entered a new phase with the inauguration of its executive committee, led by Dr. Danjuma Mahmud as President.

In a message titled “A Dawn of a New Era,” Dr. Mahmud ,who is also the Secretary General, World Wide,ABU Alumni Association, expressed gratitude to God and to members of the class for the confidence reposed in the new leadership, promising a tenure anchored on unity, service, and renewed commitment to member welfare and institutional support.

“While we are entrusted as torchbearers, we will require your unwavering commitment and support in every conceivable manner to realize our collective aspirations,” he said.

The president noted that although the class has more than 138 members, only that number is currently active in the chatroom, urging all members to reach out to classmates who have yet to join, stressing that “the more, the merrier.”

Dr. Mahmud announced plans to establish a Membership Committee alongside other key committees to strengthen engagement and expand the association’s base.

Dr. Mahmud reaffirmed the group’s alignment with the broader ABU Alumni Association, emphasizing cooperation rather than competition.

“Our activities and conduct will be aligned with the ABU Alumni Association, fostering collaboration and synergy toward achieving our common objectives,” he said.

He added that the Class of 94/95 stands out for its uniqueness and capacity to achieve great milestones through unity, resource mobilization, and collective action.

The president appealed to members to cultivate an atmosphere of mutual respect, urging them to engage in constructive criticism while avoiding divisive discussions.

“In our postings and comments, we must remain mindful of our diverse backgrounds and beliefs, underscoring the necessity for restraint and decorum,” he cautioned.

Dr. Mahmud sought members’ prayers and cooperation as the new leadership embarks on what he described as a journey of service for the benefit of all and for the continued advancement of ABU, Zaria.
