The Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Alumni Association, Kogi State branch, has condoled with the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, over the passing of his father, Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, who died on Monday at the age of 83.

In a condolence message issued in Lokoja and signed by the state chairman of the association, Engr. Mohammed Sagir, and the PRO, Alhaji D.U Ahmed in Lokoja on Monday, the association described the death of the deceased as a painful loss not only to the Governor’s family but also to Kogi State and the wider society.

The association extolled the virtues of the late Alhaji. Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, recalling his cherished moral values and integrity which, it said, were reflected in the character and leadership qualities of his son, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

“The Governor should see this as an act defined by the Almighty. Late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo lived a fulfilled life, leaving behind a legacy of enviable morals and integrity. His impact on his children, particularly the Governor, is evident in the uprightness and moral leadership that people across the state testify to,” the statement read.

The association prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and urged the Governor and the entire Ododo family to find solace in the fact that their patriarch left behind an indelible legacy of honor and service.

Our correspondent recalls that the Kogi State Government officially announced the death of the Governor’s father on Monday evening through a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo.

The statement read in part: “Late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, who returned to his Creator a few hours ago at the age of 83, was a man of great values.

“We pray to Allah (SWT) to forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.

” We also pray that Almighty Allah grants the Governor, his family, and the entire Ododo family the strength to bear this great loss with fortitude.”
