By Dada Ahmed in Lokoja.
Commuters plying the Lokoja–Abuja highway on Monday had a tough experience as they grappled with a heavy gridlock that brought movement to a near standstill.
Our correspondent, who monitored the situation around the Nataco axis in Lokoja, observed that many travellers were trapped in the long queue of vehicles.
Some frustrated passengers were seen abandoning their commercial buses in favour of tricycles (Keke NAPEP) and motorcycles in a bid to make their way into Lokoja.
According to eyewitness accounts, two articulated vehicles were involved in a head-on collision, resulting in a complete obstruction of the highway and leaving motorists stranded for hours.
