Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is set to be honoured with a prestigious award by Blueprint Newspapers in recognition of his visionary leadership and strategic focus on human capital development.

Ismaila Isah,Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, disclosed this in Lokoja on Monday in a statement he signed and sent to The Reporters.

The award is part of the publication’s highly regarded Impact Series Awards, which celebrates public officials whose policies and programmes in governance have translated into measurable socio-economic impact.

The management of Blueprint Newspapers had earlier conveyed the nomination in an official letter signed by its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Salisu Umar.

The Newspaper organization praised Governor Ododo for demonstrating uncommon commitment to people-focused governance, citing improvements in education, youth empowerment, and access to healthcare under his administration.

According to the organisers, the selection process was rigorous, involving the review of performances by state governors and public officers across critical
sectors of the economy.

Governor Ododo’s track record, especially in health and education placed him ahead of many of his peers and earned him the nomination for one of the top honours in this year’s edition of the annual event.

The award presentation will take place during a grand ceremony slated for Tuesday, 22nd July 2025, in Abuja.

The event will bring together dignitaries from across Nigeria, including top government officials, business leaders, civil society actors, and the media.

This latest recognition adds to a growing list of honours received by Governor Ododo since he assumed office in January 2024.

The award affirms the rising national profile of the Kogi State Governor as a leader with a clear agenda for inclusive growth and sustainable development in critical sectors of the state’s economy.

The Blueprint Impact Series Awards is an annual ceremony by Blueprint Newspapers aimed at spotlighting exemplary leadership and inspiring a culture of service, excellence, and accountability across Nigeria’s public and private sectors.
