By Dada Ahmed in Lokoja.

Members of the association during their meeting on June 29,2025 at Aneibo housing estate, Lokoja.
The Ebira Avaibe Association has issued a stern warning to some members of its executive council who have repeatedly absented themselves from meetings, urging them to change their attitude or risk losing their positions.

The warning was issued by the Chairman of the association, Hon. Musa Akaba, during the group’s weekly meeting held on Sunday at Aneibo Housing Estate in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

Akaba expressed disappointment over the consistent absence of certain executive members who, according to him, have failed to uphold the oath of office they swore to.

He said their conduct contradicts both the constitution and the spirit of the association.

“Any executive member who continues to stay away from meetings without genuine reasons is not only violating our constitution but also undermining the collective efforts of the group.

“Such members may be shown the way out if there is no change of attitude,”he said.

The chairman urged all members to treat meetings with the seriousness they deserve in order to derive the full benefits of the association’s initiatives and engagements.

Akaba , however, lauded the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for what he described as visible and impactful infrastructure projects and other development programmes that are improving the living standards of people across the state.

Our correspondent reports the meeting ended with prayers offered for members who recently lost loved ones, after extensive delibration on the way forward for the association.

The Ebira Avaibe Association, a socio-cultural group of the Ebira people, continues to play a unifying role among its members while also serving as a platform for community engagement and development.
