Summit University,Offa Hosts Virtual Dialogue on Islamic Ethics and Artificial Intelligence

In a groundbreaking virtual forum aimed at bridging faith and futuristic innovation, Summit University, Offa, on Sunday ,hosts a thought-provoking conversation exploring the intersection of Islamic values and emerging technologies,particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI).

According to the Vice Chancellor, the event with the heme “Artificial and Shariah Intelligence for 21st Century Muslims,” will bring together thought leaders, scholars, and technologists to discuss how Muslims can ethically navigate and shape the rapidly evolving digital world.

The virtual dialogue, scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM WAT via Google Meet, promises an engaging exploration of how AI can be harmonized with Islamic principles to promote human dignity, social justice, and sustainable development in Muslim communities and beyond.

He said that two distinguished speakers will headline the event:

Dr. Adetokunbo Abdulsalam, a Development Consultant, Youth Trainer, and passionate advocate for orphans and access to education, known for integrating moral leadership with social innovation.

Dr. (Mrs) Falilat Ajao, Head of the Computer Science Department at Kwara State University, Malete, whose research and academic leadership focus on AI and its real-world applications in education and governance.

The Prof.Aibinu added that the event is organized by the Research and Innovation Unit of Summit University as part of its broader initiative to promote transformative and inclusive technological development.

The programme also highlights the university’s ongoing projects:AI4FS (Artificial Intelligence for Females in STEM) ,AI4WA (Artificial Intelligence for Women in Aquaculture) and DELitE (Democratisation of Environmental Literacy in Post-Primary Educational Institutions in Nigeria)

These initiatives reflect the institution’s commitment to inclusive education, gender equity in science and technology, and environmental sustainability, he said.

“We believe that technology, guided by ethical and spiritual intelligence, can be a force for global good.This event is about fostering critical thinking and responsible innovation among young Muslims and professionals in the 21st century,”a spokesperson for the university said
