The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief Ralph Okey Nwosu, has expressed his party’s willingness to collaborate with other like-minded political platforms to address what he described as the deepening socioeconomic and governance challenges currently facing Nigeria.
Speaking on Saturday at the Niger State ADC Convergence and the unveiling of the party’s new zonal and state secretariat along the Eastern Bypass in Minna, Nwosu emphasized the need for a united political front committed to national renewal and responsible leadership.
Represented by the ADC National Vice Chairman (North-Central), Mr. Peter Edeh, Nwosu highlighted the rising hardship experienced by citizens, noting that many Nigerians are struggling to meet basic needs despite the nation’s abundant resources.
“Nigerians deserve leadership that is compassionate, accountable, and responsive. “Our party is working to build a coalition capable of delivering real change through policies that promote social justice, economic growth, and national security,”Edeh said.
He added that the ADC remains committed to offering an alternative that prioritizes the welfare of the people and respects democratic values.
Also speaking at the event, the Niger State Coordinator of the Coalition for the Protection of Democracy (COPDEM), Mr. Chris Oche, described the convergence of various political stakeholders as a positive step toward fostering unity among opposition parties.
He called on all pro-democracy groups and political actors to rally behind the ADC in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
“We believe that through collective effort and shared vision, we can chart a new course that guarantees good governance, equity, and freedom of expression,” Oche said.
Our correspondent reports that the event attracted political figures and party members from across and beyond Niger State.
However, the absence of representatives from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) was noted.
Despite this, party officials expressed optimism about the ADC’s growing momentum and its role in shaping Nigeria’s democratic future.
