Members of the Kogi Central Think Tank Forum (KCTTF) are mourning the passing of one of their own, Engr. Ahmad Abdullahi, whose death has left a deep void in the hearts of many.
Speaking during the three-day fidau prayers on held in his honour, the Chairman of the Forum, Dr. Haroun Opotu Yussuff, said Engr. Abdullahi was a cherished, lively, and deeply committed member of the forum.
“He was an amiable, humorous, and sociable individual. Always active and present at our meetings. We have truly lost someone special,” Dr. Yussuff said with visible emotion.
He added that Engr. Abdullahi’s humility and honesty stood out, adding that members of the Forum would strive to uphold the values he represented.
Dr. Yussuff prayed for the repose soul of the deceased and for strength for the bereaved family during this difficult time.
Also speaking to The Reporters, Mr. Daniel Itopa, Vice Chairman of the Ebira Vabe Community, Otokiti Housing Estate branch, expressed deep sorrow over the loss.
Engr. Abdullahi had served as the chairman of the community until his passing.
“He wasn’t just our chairman. He was like a father to us all,kind, generous, and always ready to mediate and bring peace whenever conflict arose,” Mr. Itopa said.
He recalled with fondness how the late chairman hosted the community during the last Sallah celebration, providing food and bringing everyone together in unity.
“We will deeply miss his calm ,jovial nature, his leadership, and the way he carried every member along regardless of background,” he added.
During the prayer session, Islamic cleric Mallam Abubakar reminded attendees of the certainty of death and the importance of living a righteous life.
“Death can come at any time. What matters most is how we live and what we leave behind,” he said, urging all to shun evil and strive to be remembered for good deeds.
He described the late Engr. Abdullahi as a man who was devoted to Islam and called on others to emulate his attitude.
The religious leader prayed for Almighty Allah to grant Engr. Abdullahi Aljanah Firdaus and for comfort and strength for the grieving family.
Family sources disclosed that Engr. Abdullahi, a respected retiree of NTA Lokoja, passed away on Thursday in Abuja following an illness.
His death marks not just the end of a life, but the departure of a man who touched many lives with humility, service, and compassion.
