Kogi State has once again demonstrated its leadership in ethical governance and value-driven public service as the Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation (CESVO), a renowned international anti-corruption NGO, ranked the state among the top ethically compliant states in Nigeria.
In a landmark recognition at the office of the SA Media,the Government House,Lokoja on Thursday, the event reinforces the Ododo administration’s commitment to accountability and transparency, the Centre conferred the prestigious Ethics and Integrity Ambassador Award on the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Hon. Ismaila Isah.
The award, presented during the commemoration of the International Day of Conscience, followed a rigorous 14-month undercover ethical compliance assessment across Nigeria’s 36 states.
Hon. Ismaila emerged among the top 200 public officials at the sub-national level, noted for his emotional intelligence, loyalty, adherence to professional ethics, and unwavering commitment to public interest.
CESVO’s Executive Director, Prince Salih Musa Yakubu, lauded Hon. Ismaila’s exemplary conduct, stating that his leadership has positioned the Office of the Special Adviser on Media as one of the top three most ethically managed public offices in the country.
A certificate of recognition described him as a “model public officer” whose work continues to strengthen trust in government communication.
“This honour is a testament to the ethical leadership of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, whose vision continues to inspire professionalism and integrity in public service,” Hon. Ismaila said in his acceptance speech.
He dedicated the award to the Governor and reaffirmed his commitment to responsible media practice and transparent communication.
The event also recognized three other members of the Government House Media Centre—Evelyn Yusuff, Oiza Shamsudeen Sarki, and Rufai Aliyu Omeiza,for their consistent professionalism and ethical contributions to public communication.
This achievement not only highlights Kogi State’s growing national reputation for ethical leadership but also underscores the Ododo administration’s dedication to building a governance culture anchored on transparency, service, and moral accountability.
