The Army War College, Nigeria has unfolded plans to seek more collaboration with the Military Intelligence, Army.
The agreement was reached when the Commandant of the Army War College, Nigeria (AWCN), Major General UM Alkali, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of Military Intelligence (Army), Major General TB Ugiagbe, at the Intelligence Headquarters in Asokoro, Abuja on Friday, March 21, 2025.
The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between AWCN and the Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps, particularly in areas of intelligence-driven military education, strategic research, and capacity building.
During the discussions, Major General Alkali emphasized the critical role of intelligence in modern warfare and military leadership.
He highlighted the importance of integrating intelligence-driven strategies into the College’s curriculum to enhance the training of senior officers in operational planning and decision-making.
Major General Alkali also explored opportunities for intelligence experts to contribute to AWCN’s academic programs through lectures, case studies, and research collaborations.
In response, Major General Uguagbe welcomed the Commandant and commended AWCN for its contributions to professional military education in Nigeria.
He reaffirmed the Intelligence Corps’ commitment to supporting the College by sharing intelligence insights, providing expert resources, and facilitating joint training exercises that would enhance national security.
According to the College spokesman, Major Hashimu Abdullahi, ” The visit further reinforced the strong partnership between AWCN and the Intelligence Corps, ensuring that future military leaders are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for intelligence-led operations”.
Accompanying the Commandant were the Director of Administration and Logistics, Brigadier General JN Garba, and the Director of Coordination, Brigadier General AU Abdul.
The high point of the visit was the exchange of souvenirs and a group photograph.
