The Acting Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Kogi Specialist Hospital (KSSH), Dr. Oluseyi Folagbade, has expressed appreciation to Governor Ahmed Ododo for his appointment and pledged his firm commitment to advancing quality healthcare and staff welfare at the hospital.
Folagbade made the pledge while speaking with journalists on Friday in Lokoja.
He stated that his mission is to uphold the vision of the hospital’s founding fathers while implementing Governor Ododo’s mandate to provide accessible and efficient healthcare services to the people of Kogi State.
The CMD expressed profound gratitude to the governor for entrusting him with the hospital’s leadership, vowing to lead with dedication, transparency, and excellence.
“As someone deeply familiar with this institution, I understand the challenges and aspirations of our staff.
“My priority is to foster a supportive and conducive work environment where everyone can thrive.
“I am fully committed to enhancing staff welfare because a motivated workforce is essential for delivering quality healthcare services,” Dr. Folagbade said.
He further emphasized his goal of ensuring that residents receive optimal care by focusing on four core values, summarized in the acronym “CARE”:
C – Communication/Commitment
A – Availability/Punctuality
R – Relationship
E – Expertise
The CMD assured staff that he would operate an open-door policy, ensuring fairness and equal treatment for all, regardless of tribe, religion, or rank.
“We will demonstrate our commitment and communicate effectively while attending to patients. We will also ensure that we are available at the point of care whenever our patients visit the hospital.
“We will provide reliable services while fostering strong relationships with our patients and clients.
“At every stage of patient care, we will offer our expertise to ensure the best possible treatment,” he added.
Folagbade encouraged hospital staff to work with him, promising to prioritize their welfare.
“I need your cooperation and commitment. I also need you to bring your expertise to the table so that, together, we can provide the best care we are called to deliver.
“We have a robust laboratory, and we will ensure that our services are better optimized.
“I want to assure our people that we will improve our services by securing the necessary manpower, equipment, and resources to enhance both laboratory and clinical services,” he said.
It would be recalled that Governor Ododo appointed Dr. Folagbade as Acting CMD on March 7, following the completion of Prof. Isah Adagiri’s tenure.
