Third party insurance policy: Police nab 2 suspected armed robbers in kogi

Operatives of the Anyigba Division of the Nigeria Police in kogi state have arrested 2 suspected armed robbers along Harbour Bay-EGUME Road in the state.

The arrest is in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on the enforcement of Third-Party Insurance across the Federation.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, for the Police in kogi state, SP. William Ovie Aya, disclosed this in a statement he signed and made available a copy to The Reporters on Friday in Lokoja.

He said that the suspects: Mohammed Chelim and Oneh Mohammed were arrested while the Operatives were conducting the exercise along Harbour Bay-EGUME Road.

According to him,.the two suspects, both of Olubojo street,were arrested while on a motorcycle, following exhibited suspicious behavior they existed

“Upon interrogation, the suspects failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for their movements. A subsequent search led to the recovery of a locally made pistol in their possession.

Commending the Officers for their vigilance and commitment to duty, the Commissioner of Police, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, reassured the people of Kogi State that the Command remains resolute in collaborating with other security agencies to rid the State of criminal elements.

“He further urged residents to continue supporting security efforts by providing credible information on criminal activities,” the PPRO said.
