,,,,, Unveils New Academic Programs, Strategic Partnerships.

The Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, is set to confer First Degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas, Higher Degrees, Honorary Degrees, and Prizes on 5,816 graduates for the 2023/2024 academic session during its 33rd Convocation and 42nd Founders’ Day celebrations on Saturday.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta, disclosed this while briefing journalists about the event, which will take place at the main campus in Gidan-Kwano, along the Minna-Bida road.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, is expected to deliver a lecture at the ceremony, which will also feature the commissioning of several projects.
Among the graduates, 119 earned First Class, 1,431 received Second Class Upper, 2,341 achieved Second Class Lower, 972 graduated with Third Class, and 92 received a Pass.
To meet contemporary societal needs and enhance global competitiveness, the university introduced 13 new academic programs, all of which have been approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC). These new programs include Data Science, Software Engineering, Forestry and Wildlife Technology, Forensic Science, and Industrial Mathematics.
In a bid to strengthen its academic and research capacity, FUT Minna has also secured 30 new Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with both local and international institutions.
Professor Kuta credited the university’s achievements in the past year to the hard work and dedication of the staff. In recognition of their efforts, 74 members of the faculty were promoted to the ranks of Professor and Associate Professor.
He added that the university awarded 94 study fellowships and sponsored 112 staff members to workshops and conferences.
The most recent staff promotion cycle benefited 74 Professors, 87 academic staff, 174 senior non-teaching staff, and 34 junior staff members, according to him
