The Police Command in Kogi State says that a suspect, Elisha Daniel (39 ), who confessed to have put his finger into the private part of a minor in Ganaja, a suburb of Lokoja,the state will soon appear in court.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO,for the Command, SP William Ovie Aya, disclosed this in a statement he sent to The Reporters in Lokoja on Monday.
According to him,when the case of sexual assault was reported at the ‘D’ Division, Lokongoma, Lokoja,the IPO and the parents of the survivor went to the Police Hospital, Lokoja for Medical examination.
He disclosed the results of the medical examination,conducted on the victim at the disposal of the police, showed normal vulga and vagina with nil discharge,nil bruises or bleeding while hymen was intact.
“Following the above medical results, there is no point to prove an offence of rape, instead, the suspect committed an offence of indecent Assault on the minor.
“The suspect has confessed that he put his finger into the vagina of the survivor,he will be arraigned in court,”Ayah said.
