By Dada Ahmed in Lokoja.

The prices of petrol have consistently dropped in Lokoja, Kogi State, in North Central Nigeria. This decline has strengthened the hope of an easier life for residents, particularly in terms of reduced transport fares.

The drop in petrol prices also has the potential to alleviate the high cost of living in the region, offering some relief to those struggling with the financial burdens of daily life as indicated in the picture above.

Our correspondent reports that a few months ago, petrol prices in Lokoja and its surrounding areas rose to N1,200 per litre.

At Enyo filling station located at Gadumo quarters, Lokoja,a litre of petrol sold for N945 on Saturday.

The availability of the product has driven fuel black market operators out of their illegal business, making it easier to purchase petrol.
