Prince Adebanji David Jimoh, a former governorship aspirant and chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has praised the leadership of Governor Usman Ododo for the APC’s overwhelming success in the recently concluded Kogi Local Government (LG) elections.
Our correspondent reports that Governor Ododo sworn in the council chairmen and Vice Chairmen at the Government House Lokoj on Monday with a charge on them to perform to the expectation of the people they represent, by virtue of their victory to occupy such a sensitive position.
The APC won all 21 LGA chairmanships, vice-chairmanships, and councillor positions.
In a statement in Lokoja on Monday,Jimoh congratulated the winners across the LGAs and acknowledged that Governor Ododo’s purposeful and result-oriented leadership played a crucial role in driving the electorate to vote overwhelmingly for the APC.
He noted that opposition parties are losing members to the ruling APC due to the Governor’s governance, which citizens want to align with.
Jimoh urged the newly elected officials to live up to expectations and consolidate on the Governor’s good governance at the grassroots level.
He emphasized that the officials were elected to serve the people and must work collaboratively with the Governor to deliver the dividends of democracy.
The APC chieftain wished the officials “wisdom, courage, and good health to guide their LGAs successfully.”
