Kogi NUJ Press Week: Governor Ododo to Be Invested as Grand Patron on Aug. 20.

The Nigeria Union Journalists, NUJ,kogi state council has earmarked August 16 to August 20, 2024 for their press week with the planned event culminating in the investiture of the Governor of the state, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo as the Grand Patron of the union.

This is contained in a statement signed by Comrde Adeiza Momohjimoh and Abu Micheal, Chairman and Secretary of the planning committee, respectively in Lokoja on Friday.
Comrade Momohjimoh and Abu added that this year’s theme of the event is “Celebrating Diversity, Promoting Unity: The Role of Media in Kogi State’s Ethnic Relations.”

According to them, the Press Week provides a platform for reflection and aims to enhance the Union’s service delivery.

The event will start with
Jumat prayers on August 16, followed by Church prayers, sporting events, visit to orphanages,environmental sanitation,and free medical services among others, they further revealed.

“The Investiture of Governor Ododo as Grand Patron will culminate the week’s events on August 20 at EdgeDrive Hotel, Lokoja.

“The ceremony will be conducted by NUJ National President Comrade Chief Chris Isiguzo, MFR, along with other Union officials.

“His Royal Majesty Ohimegye Igu Koton, Alhaji Saidu Akawu Salihu, will chair the event, while Prof. Akinwumi Olayemi, Vice Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, will deliver the keynote address,”Momohjimoh and Abu added.
