Comrade Abdulsalam Nwaha.

It goes without saying that when a leader that has passed through a democratic setting with the hallmark of purposeful leadership, certainly, life retirement for such leader will sail smoothly and comfortable because he has served well.

This is the beautiful story of comrade Abdulsalam Nwaha, a man who shone brilliantly like a diamond while he held sway at the Kogi State House of Assembly during the time of former Governor Ibrahim Idris.

There is enough evidence on ground to suggest that Comrade Nwaha was a leading voice at the assembly with so many sponosored bills to his credits and motions moved all in the best interest of the State.

True, Comrade Nwaha is a man of edifying pedigree who always took the centre stage in that hallowed chamber to lend his voice to contemporary issues bordering on the need for harmonious coexistence in Kogi State among all the ethnic groups in the State.

Years after he left office, Comrade Nwaha who is in love with nature is living a quiet and peaceful life in a community noted for serenity and ambience.

The last time this independent Journalist did an interview with him, it was in his personal hotel where he spends his time in tandem with his peaceful nature.

Even though he is far away from the center of active politics, his body and soul is soaked in the political atmosphere that has brought some mighty people down to the level of disdain because they mismanaged the opportunity God gave them to render selfless services to their constituents.

There is a lesson to learn in this for all up and coming generation who are interested to serve, that when you are called to serve, you should do it well because nature will always run its course to account for how well you have served ur constituents.

That’s why some politicians run into acute poverty just few months after leaving office because they couldn’t see beyond their nose that there is life after retirement which is more difficult to handle than the one spent during service.

Essentially, the life of Comrade Nwaha is different because he served his community selflessly and he was noted for his distinct voice in the hallowed chamber of the Kogi State House of Assembly.

This independent Journalist was only delighted watching Comrade Nwaha make his contributions at the State house of assembly and has since taken a keen interest in him.

It is not certain the political future of Nwaha but there are pointers that the people of his community of Okene 2 constituency would love to have him represent them again in office. Only time will tell. We are watching as political evolution unfolds in the Confluence State
