Kogi MMPN members tasked to double efforts for propagation of Islam.

The General Manager, Nigerian Television Authority,NTA,Lokoja, Yahaya Adam, has tasked muslim media practitioners in kogi state to leverage on the opportunity provided by their profession and the expertise gained to propagate Islam in consonance with the tenet of the religion.

He gave the task on Friday in Lokoja in his remarks at the IFTAAR/Final Ramadan Lecture(breaking of fast) organized by the state branch of Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria,MMPN.
Adam said that by doing so, the media practitioners would be contributing, significantly towards spreading the message of Islam aimed at strengthening unity, tolerance and love among Muslims.


He called on MMPN members not to judge message of Islam by the status or the personality that delivered it but examine the content and its relevance before disseminating it a potent force in strengthening the unity of purpose and love among Muslim community.

The General Manager added that such effort would make adherents of other religions to understand Islam better as a religion of peace and contribute to peace in the state.

Adam called on members to use their various social and mainstream media to carry out such noble cause for the understanding and appreciation of the value and the meaning of Islam by the larger society.

The General Manager commended members of the faith-based organization for their doggedness and commitment in the course of realizing its aims and objectives and prayed Almighty Allah to reward them abundantly.

He expressed condolences to the Muslim community over the sudden death of the General.Manager, National Inland Water Ways Authority,NIWA, Lokoja,Alarama Jubril Darda’u and prayed Almighty Allah to grant him aljanah firdaus and the bereaved family, the fortitude to bear the great loss.
In his brief lecture on the significance of breaking fast, the quest lecturer,Khalipha (Barr) Abubakar Ibrahim Na-jirgi of Zawiya Masjid, Lokoja highlighted the history of breaking of fast in Islam and how to it, as explained by various Islamic scholars.
He, however, stressed the need for the Muslims to express intension before breaking their fast to make it acceptable by Almighty Allah.

The Coordinator of MMPN in the state,Malam Muhammed Abdulsalam, thanked members for turning up for the occasion and called on them to double efforts in realizing the aims and objectives of the organization.
The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Kogi State Council, Alhaji Saidu Adamu, represented by the Secretary of the council,Mr.Solomon Aiyedeni, commended the organization for organizing the event.
Our correspondent reports that highlights at the occasion were Quranic recitation by Malam Raballan Baba of Radio Kogi and the breaking of fast together by members, thus enhancing unity of purchasing, mutual understanding and love among other advantages in Islam.
