Tragedy struck at katakpa village,Toto Local Government Area of Nasawa state on Monday as gunmen stormed the village , killing its head,Alhaji Abubakar Ahmadu and 13 other residents in a fresh attack on the village.
According to local sources,the victims were killed in the early hours of Monday when gunmen invaded the village to launch a bloody attack.
Among the figure of those killed are two policemen and 11 other residents of the village.
Confirming the bloody incident,a resident of the village, Ibrahim Shuaibu,said that the gunmen launched the attack at about 2a.m on Monday, adding that in the process set ablaze some houses as well.
He recalled that the hoodlums had earlier attacked the police station in the community where they killed two of the policemen on duty.
The Chairman of Toto LGA, Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas, also confirmed the attack and the killings.
He told newsmen that he was aware of the incident but he’s “yet to get details of civilians killed in the attack.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, for the Police Command in the state,Ramhan Nansel, said he was yet to issue a statement on the matter.
The Reporters gathered that on January 1, 2024, gunmen invaded Katakpa, killed eight persons and set houses, including the palace of the village head, as well as vehicles, ablaze.
