Kogi govt.will sustain Disabilities Law through infrastructure development-Commissioner.

The Kogi State Commissioner for Works Hon. Engr. Muhammed Ahovi Yusuf has revealed that his Ministry would uphold the Disabilities Law via Infrastructure Development in the State

Engr Yusuf made the promise on Thursday in Lokoja while receiving the Executives of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) Kogi State Chapter on a courtesy visit to his office.

Yusuf, who noted that his ministry would intensify more efforts to make life more bearable for the group in infrastructural designs, also assured them of more dividends of Democracy in the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

He reaffirmed his commitment to creating enabling environment that would give equal and adequate opportunities to Persons with Disabilities in the state for the fulfillment of their dreams and aspirations in the area of infrastructure.

Our correspondent recalls that on June 4, 2019, former Governor of Kogi State, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, signed into law, a bill to establish disability office as part of efforts to guarantee and protect the rights of Persons Living with Disabilities

Responding, the Chairman of JONAPWD, Comrade Yahaya Solomon, congratulated the commissioner bu appealed to him to put his members into consideration in all the programmes and projects of the state, most especially in the area of job creation.
