    (C). PM News Nigeria.

The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro, has called on youths from Apa and Agatu Local Government Areas of Benue State to defend their land against external aggressors.

    Our correspondent reports that
the two LGAs have recently come under invasions of alleged armed bandits, killin go many people, including some security personnel.

Moro, therefore while addressing angry youths at Ugbokpo in Apa LGA headquarters, urged them to be vigilant and be prepared to defend their land against external aggressors.

He assured them of his support and that of other leaders during the interface with the youths who had earlier protested against the killings in Apa/Agatu by blocking the Otukpo-Oweto-Abuja federal highway to drive home their grievances over insecurity in their areas.

The senate minority leader who intervened to ensure they unblock the road promised to return back for an interface with them, a promise he fufilled by meeting with the youths and frowning against the killings and displacement of people from their ancestral homes by armed invaders.

He also appealed to the youths to avoid blocking of federal roads and to allow them (leaders) to do what they have started doing already through steady interactions with security agents and other authorities, in addition to media outings like the recent press briefing by the Benue State National Assembly Caucus in Abuja.

Moro further called on all the critical stakeholders not to politicise the killings but come together, irrespective of party affiliation, to face the menace headlong with a view to nipping it in the bud.

Responding, the President of Apa/Agatu Strong Voice, Comrade Vincent Peter, thanked the Senator for coming to their rescue at their trying moments.

He said, “The protests was not targeted at any leader, rather it was done to draw the attention of government to our plights. We commend your fatherly love and show of concern for us. May God continue to keep and preserve you.”
