,,,,Rides bike for 92 kilometers to celebrate the new governor.
An undergraduate biker , and indigene of Kogi state, Comrade Ojo Kehinde Oluwatosin , has called on the people of the state to give maximum support to the administration of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his capacity and capability to deliver dividends of democracy to the state.
Our correspondent reports that Comrade Oluwatosin rode a bicycle from Kabba, headquarters of Kabba Bunu Local Government Area of the state to Lokoja to cheer up the people on the victory of Ododo on his electoral victory and his swearing in as the governor.
Comrade Oluwatosin made the appeal on Wednesday while fielding questions from Journalists in Lokoja, on his motivation to embark on arduous task of riding bicycle from Kabba to Lokoja, a journey of about 92 kilometres to celebrate the victory of the Governor.
He said , his motivation to embark on the adventure was his strong belief in the strength, capacity and capabilities of the governor to unleash total transformation on the state, saying that Ododo’s experience in the art of governance, in the last eight years, marked him out as the best thing that had happened to the state.
Oluwatoyin, who is popularly known as ICT board is a 200 level student of the Federal University, Lokoja.is renowned to have done similar thing to celebrate the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the presidential election in 2023.
According to him, Governor Ododo, also a youth has the yearnings and aspirations of the youths at heart and could go to any length to ensure that they are given needed attention in the administration.
” When Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo emerged as the governor, I said to myself, what will I do to justify my joy for the people of the state to have voted enmasse for him . I rode my bicycle to Abuja to celebrate president Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he won his election. “I said, i should do the same for my Governor, for the sake of my people ( Okuns) people of Kogi state and the youths whom , the governor has absolutely committed to change their narratives.
”I took off on the 23rd of January, 2024 in a media glitz fashion, and I was able to arrive at Lokoja, the state capital, not minding challenges encountered on the ways.
“When I arrived at Lokoja for Gov Ododo, I was equally given attention,as many youths were by my side to catch the glimpse of my escapades.
“It was a long time preparation and I thank God that the ride was successful,”he said.
The biking exponent urged Ododo to create a platform that would make him a voice for the youth, less privileged , widows , orphans at the grassroots.
He added that his passion was to render selfless service to the vulnerable, the downtrodden , saying he would be fulfilled if given the opportunity to partner with the government to actualize his dream.
While calling on the Okun people to give their maximum support to Governor Ododo, to enable him succeed,he also appealed to politicians to join hands with the new governor to pilot the affairs of the state effectively.
He noted that the election was over, adding that” what is expected of those who love the state is to welcome the olive branch extended to them by the government to move the state forward.”
