Prolonged power outage in Lokoja ceases, residents express relieve.

Residents of Lokoja, capital of Kogi state, who coped with prolonged power outage for some days now expressed relieve on Tuesday evening following the return of light to the area and its environs.
Our correspondent reports that the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company,AEDC, restored electricity at about 6.30.p.m on Tuesday in Gadumo quarters and surrounding areas of the state capital.
Electricity consumers described their experience while the black out lasted as not funny but expressed happiness that light returned.
A statement from the management of the Regional office of AEDC, in Lokoja, a copy of which was made available to The Reporters on Tuesday sai the prolonged outage was as a result of Gas Shortage which caused the Grid collapse recently.
AEDC said,:”Presently, the allocation to Kogi Region is very small and cannot carry large feeders.
“All the Stakeholders in the Energy industry are trying to find solution to the Generation problem.
“Please bear with us. Supply will be restored as soon as the problem is rectified”.
Some residents, however, expressed the hope that the return of the electricity in the area would not be a short while exercise.
