The Egbaland is set for agog,as the Chief Executive Officer of Right-Dev Limited (Publishers and Media Consultants), Oyeyemi Kolapo will, this weekend, be turbaned as the new Iyalode Musulumi of Egbaland.
The title also known as Iyalode of Egba Muslims is one of the highest honour to be bestow on any woman of Egba extraction.
Kolapo, whose contributions to the social -economic development of Egbaland have not gone unnoticed, is also an house hold name in the media sector.
She holds BSc and MSc degrees in Economics from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
Kolapo also attended the Michigan State University, United States of America, where she completed the Responsible Governance Programme under the MSU-UJ Exchange Programme.
She was Senior Special Assistant, Corporate Communications, to the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Olusegun Aganga, CON.
Before her appointment as the SSA to the Honourable Minister, she rose to become the first female Group Business Editor of Punch Newspapers, and maintained the popular backpage column on economic matters (Compass) for the newspaper for many years.
A Fellow of the West African Society for Communications and Administration, Kolapo is credited among the media for the successful rebranding of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
In August last year, Kolapo received the Institute of Public Sector Management (IPSM), United Kingdom (UK) Doctoral Fellowship Award.
Beautiful and eloquent Kolapo is unarguably one of the gifted philanthropists in Egba land.
The Iyalode of Egba Muslims was last worn by late Mrs. Alaba Lawson.
The creme the la creme of Egbaland and Nigeria in general are expected to grace the occasion in Abeokuta.
Meanwhile,Kogi State Council Of the Nigeria Union Of Journalists, NUJ has felicitated with Corporate Communication Guru, Media Consultant, Publisher and Veteran Journalist, Dr Oyeyemi Kolapo on her turbaning as the new Iyalode Musulumi of Egbaland, Ogun State
The chairman and Secretary of the Council, Alhaji Seidu Ademu Haruna and Comrade Olusegun Ayindero-Oyenibi, respectively in a statement on Thursday, said Dr. Oyeyemi Kolapo deserved the honour in view of her commitment to the work of God and humanity at large.
According to them, her impact is felt beyond Egbaland as she has been a source of inspiration and blessings to working journalists in Kogi State.
The Council urged Dr. Oyeyemi Kolapo to see the honour as an opportunity to do more to advance the course of humanity, devoid of ethnic, political and religious inclination.
Kogi journalists prayed Almighty God to grant Kolapo, more grace to continue to affect the cause of humanity and remain a blessing to all.
The journalists assured of their support to her cause as well as commitment to be partners in progress at all times.
“Once again we say congratulations to a woman of honour, passion, dedication and unwavering commitment to the work of the Almighty God and humanity,” they said.
