The Chairman, Cable Network News , Senator Tunde Ogbeha, has expressed delight over the appointment of His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Maikarfi, as the Maigari of Lokoja.
This is contained in a statement released on his behalf in Lokoja on Tuesday.
Senator Ogbeha, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, as well as being the Lakpini of Lokoja, described the announcement of Maikarfi,the fourth successor of his Dynasty, as the beginning of a new epoch for Lokoja.
He expressed optimism that the development would lead to the development of Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State and its environs.
Ogbeha counseled the Maigari to reign with the fear of God and justice by ensuring continued peace, unifying the people and avoiding partisan politics.
“Rule with the wisdom of Solomon, the courage of David, as well as the sacrifice and humility of Prophet Mohammed,” Senator Ogbeha further advised the new Maigari.
According to him, the people of Lokoja will.make huge gains from the vast experience of the new traditional ruler in all facets of life.
Senator Ogbeha noted that the appointment of the new Maigari was long awaited by his people,
“As a people, we have been waiting for this appointment. But it could not have come at a better time than now.
“We rejoice with the Maigari and pray that his reign would herald development, prosperity and greater unity,” he added.
Our correspondent recalls that the governor of kogi state,Alhaji Yahay Bello,announced Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir as the new Maigari of Lokoja on Tuesday in Lokoja.
