OptiEdge Nig. Limited is joining forces with a consortium of twelve higher institutions, led by Summit University, Offa, Kwara state, north central Nigeria to empower youths and students in the country through Acadopreneursship.
The programme is a pioneering collaboration, aimed at positively impacting over 10,000 Nigerian youths and students, with a focus on enhancing the success of Medium, Small, and Micro Enterprises (MSMEs),
The primary objective of this collaboration is to nurture smart installers and Smart Ambassadors under the Acadopreneurship initiative for the deployment of Smart (Artificial Intelligence-based) products.
Taking prompt action, Prof. Abiodun Musa Aibinu, the Vice-Chancellor of Summit University, recently visited OptiEdge’s technology center to evaluate project readiness.
Following a thorough inspection, the VC expressed approval for the imminent deployment and rollout of some of the products.
The project encompasses the advocacy and deployment of smart surveillance systems (Artificial Intelligence-based surveillance system) to enhance security for business and home remote monitoring from any part of the world.
He said the initiative was poised to engage over 10,000 youths and students across the twelve Nigerian higher institutions, enabling them to work and study simultaneously.
According to him,it provides a unique opportunity for individuals, eager to learn and contribute to fourth industrial technology development in line with the government’s strategic vision.
He disclosed that strategic alliance would commence with a pilot scheme at Summit University, Offa, The Federal University of Technology, Minna, Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State University, Malete, and Federal Polytechnic Ayede.
The second and third phases,he added, will include the remaining seven institutions and additional higher institutions, respectively, to be identified during the project’s lifespan.
The VC further revealed that the programme would kick-off with hybrid training sessions on the fourth industrial revolution, smart device development, and installation.
“These sessions, conducted by the collaborative partners and consortium, will be disseminated nationwide, fostering technological empowerment and contributing to the nation’s technological advancement.” according to him.

Addressing questions during the Vice-Chancellor’s visit to his company’s facilities in Lagos, the CEO, Engr. Goke Adeyemi, expressed his company’s readiness to support the Acadopreneurship initiative and ensure the scheme’s sustainability.
He highlighted the success of a pilot training conducted on Summit University’s campus for fish farmers as a testament to the company’s readiness to support the scheme nationwide.

that the scheme would enhance students’ knowledge of artificial intelligence and the development of more business cases involving the use of artificial intelligence.
Addressing our correspondent in Lagos, he said that upon completion of the pilot scheme, the consortium might decide to increase the number of participants.
