Amid sustained criticism against governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state for non performance, the National leadership of the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) on Tuesday, gave Sule a pact on the back for executing legacy projects that will continue to impact on the lives of the people..
Speaking shortly after concluding a two-day inspection of projects undertaken by the Sule administration in four years, National Chairman of IPAC, Alhaji Yabagi Sani,expressed satisfaction with projects and programmes of governor Sule in the state within his four years of administration.
Sani, who doubles as the National Chairman and Presidential candidate of Action Democratic Party (ADP), explained that the council had decided to undertake inspection of projects executed by the governors across the country that ensure that accountability and good governance were being provided by the governors.
According to Alhaji Sani, IPAC has visited Kano, Imo adding that they are in Nasarawa State in continuation of on-the-spot assessment to see things for themselves as well hold the elected leaders accountable for their campaign promises and mandate to the people.
“The inspection was in fulfilment of the mandate of IPAC to deepen democracy, and we are satisfied with the performance of the governor so far”.
Some projects inspected by the IPAC Chairman, include the Sani Abacha Bus Terminal Karu, Luvu Road project in Mararaba, Permanent site of College of Health, Science and Technology Keffi, the dual-carriage way from Total Filling Station junction to Federal Medical Centre (FMC) roundabout and from FMC roundabout to Nasarawa Road.
Others were Keffi Neighborhood market, Keffi Square and Museum, Antou bridge and Arusu road in Kokona LGA, Moroa Road, the newly established Faculty of Engineering, Nasarawa State University Keffi at Gudi, a remodeled VIP Lodge and Events Centre, Neighborhood market all in Akwanga
The IPAC boss listed projects inspected in Nassarawa -Eggon to include neighborhood market at Nassarawa-Eggon LGA respectively even as the team inspected the dual-carriage Shendam Road, Bus Terminal at Bukansidi, dual-carriage Shinge road, late Akwe Aliyu Doma Banquet Hall, New Presidential Lodge, ongoing construction of State Secretariat complex.
Cargo Airport, Vocational and Training Institute, Abuja and Al-Makura streets were some of the projects inspected in Lafia metropolis.
“The Mega Bus Terminal in Mararaba-Karu axis has helped in reducing traffic jam, insecurity as gateway to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja. The projects covered a wide spectrum including education, employment generation, tackling insecurity, reducing poverty and boosting the economy of the state”, Sani stated.
The team was received in Karu and Keffi LGAs by the council Chairmen, James Thomas and Mohammed Baba-Shehu.
