Experts proffer solution to irregular migration in Nigeria Sept.26 in Abuja.

The Universal Migration Enlightenment Centre, Nigeria and the Global Migration Research Institute, Maryland USA in Collaboration with UNESC FOUNDATION Host a One-day maiden National Workshop on Proffering Solutions to Irregular Migration in Nigeria.

Executive Secretary, Universal Migration Enlightenment Centre, Nigeria, revealed this in a statement he signed in Abuja and made available to The Reporters on Sunday.
He said the main edition of the workshop with the theme, “Tackling Migration Diverse Problems For Sustainable Growth and Social Development”, would hold on Tuesday, 26th September, 2023, at the International Conference Center, Area 10, Garki, Abuja .
“The National workshop is to sensitize Policy Makers, Security Chiefs, Diplomats and Youths on evolving strategies to checkmate the menace of irregular Migration and the dangers posed to Youths in Nigeria and Africa in general.
“The one day forum will provide useful insights to guide the new leadership in Nigeria on Migration issues globally and contribute in proffering solutions to Brain Drain, Japa Syndrome and Human Trafficking.

“Over the years, several thousand lives, mostly youths, have perished in the desert and Mediterranean Sea, while crossing to Europe for better life.
“The Campaign against irregular Migration and Human Trafficking will also be replicated at the States and Local levels in Nigeria to create more awareness on reducing the dangerous voyage to death.
“We shall feature a galaxy of experts, who will speak on topical issues and proffered sustainable solutions.
“Captains of industry, Diplomats and Senior Government officials have been invited to give their perspectives on the theme of the National Workshop,”Ikiebe further disclosed.
