Police repositioning to stem kidnapping,others in Niger–AIG

The Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Zone 7,AIG. Adebowale Williams has visited Niger state, assuring officers and men of the command that the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) is repositioning its technical intelligence for more proactive policing to stem; kidnapping, insurgency and other form of crimes.
 
AIG Williams, who is currently on tour of police formations under the zone, made the disclosure in Minna during his one day working visit to Niger state, adding that part of his mission is to have first hand information about happenings in the zone.
 
While assuring of preparedness of the Police highest authority to press for improved welfare for officers, Williams encouraged them to ensure quick response time to policing, intelligence and prompt visibility policing.
 
The AIG however warned that personnel found wanting in their duties of protecting the lives and properties of citizenry will not be spared if found guilty of any form of abuse as such personnel would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
 
While commending the state police commissioner, Mr. Ogundele Ayodeji’s for being up to the task in adequate policing, Williams expressed appreciation to Governor Mohammed Umar Bago for donating vehicles to the command which he said will go a long way to ease their mobility problems.
 
The Zone 7 AIG urged them to take advantage of the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of the present administration as the officers’ welfare package will be giving the needed priority so as to boost their moral and confidence while carrying out their constitutional mandate.
 
While expressing optimisms that the current leadership of the NPF has evolved measures to get rid of all forms of criminalities such as cyber times, Williams said internal security of the country is now guaranteed to resist inter-boarder crimes to gain the confidence of the masses.
 
The State Police Commissioner of Police CP, Ogundele Ayodeji while appreciating the AIG for the visit which according to him provided the opportunity to interact with officers and men of the command in knowledge and experience sharing in their experiences.
 
The commissioner enumerated some of the challenges of the command to include; insurgency and banditry, youth restiveness, inadequate logistics and manpower and as well dilapidated office structure and accommodation in some Divisional Police Offices.
