Association plans lecture for ABU 42nd Convocation Ceremony, Diamond Jubilee Jan.24

International Studies Alumni Association, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, in collaboration with the University’s Department of Political Science and International Studies plans a public lecture, as part of ABU 42nd Convocation Ceremony and Diamond Jubilee.

National Public Relations Officer,
International Studies Alumni Association, ABU Zaria, disclosed this in a statement he signed and made available to The Reporters on Sunday.

According to him, the public lecture will be delivered by an alumnus of the university, and a renowned Professor, Adebayo Olukoshi on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the auditorium of the Central Bank Centre for Excellency, ABU, Zaria.

He said the topic for the lecture is: “Nigeria: Character Builds A Nation, Dignity Transforms It.”

“Olukoshi, holds a first class degree in International Studies from ABU, Zaria (1982)and a Doctorate in Politics from Leeds University, United Kingdom.

“He is a currently a researcher and distinguished professor at Wits School of Governance, University of Witswaterstrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.

“He was one-time Director, International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA)
Regional Office for Africa and West Asia and Head of its Liaison Office to the African Union (AU), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

“Professor Olukoshi has more than 35 years of experience in the field of international relations, political economy, democracy, governance and human rights,” Shuaibu said.
