Edo Community Concludes Plans To Hold Cultural Festival in December To Promote Tourism

Preparations are in top gear to hold this year’s edition of Fugar Cultural Festival in December as part of efforts to explore tourism as a revenue earner in Edo State.

The fourth edition of Fugar Cultural Festival, with the theme, “Showcasing Our Rich Cultural Heritage and Ethics”, is scheduled to hold from the 23rd to 27th December, 2022.

The Chairman, Planning Committee, Mr Solomon Obomighie, said the Fugar Cultural Festival , organised by the community socio-political group, Fugar Progressive Union, FPU, was aimed at promoting the rich cultural potentials and developing several tourists sites for patronage.

“Fugar, as the center of activities in Edo North during festive periods, will use the five days period to showcase cultural dance/display, picnic sites visitation, Age Grade Wrestling Competition, Launching of Fugar Exhibition Resource Centre and Unveiling of Fugar Artefacts”.

According to Mr Solomon Obomighie, all branches of Fugar Progressive Union Worldwide, will be involved in the cultural fiesta and Parade along with over 50 local Age Groups.

“Some of the centre of attraction includes, visit to several tourists sites, Camp Fire Nite, Exhibition of Fugar Artefacts and Cultural display at the Grand Finale.

Dignitaries from all walks of life including Senior Government officials at State and Federal levels, Diplomats, Captains of Industries and Celebrities have all confirmed their readiness to grace the Fugar Cultural Carnival.
