I plot kidnap of my husband for starving me of sex–Wife

Joy Emmanuel,a 40-year house wife in Akwa Ibom state who allegedly plotted the kidnap of her husband, Emmanuel Ebony and collected N2 million ransom, said she committed the offence because her husband starved her of sex and that she needed money to fend for the family

She said this to Journalists in Uyo at the Police Command in the state, South South Nigeria while being paraded before then on Friday.

The suspect added that her husband did not only starve her of sex but also refused to carry out his statutory financial responsibility for the family.

”I did menial jobs to fend for the family. I arranged his kidnap because I needed money to take care of the family.

”Unfortunately, I was not given the ransom after the abduction was successful,” she said.

“They collected the money from me and never gave anything to me.Some members of the group who were arrested while spending the money mentioned my name to the police.

“They took me to Etinan where they caged me. I am very fortunate that the police came on a rescue operation.

Narrating his ordeal in the hand of the Kidnappers, Ebong, an indigene of Ntak Obio Akpa in Oruk Anam Local Government Area of the state, said that the kidnappers picked him at about 8.30 p.m., on July 21 few minutes after he entered his house.

“They took me out of my compound in a mini bus, kept me for four days and demanded the sum of N2 million as ransom.

“They collected N2 million from me. “The police later recovered about N500,000 from them,” he revealed.

Earlier while parading the suspect,
the Commissioner of Police in charge of the command,CP Olatoye Durosinmi,confirmed that the suspect and the kidnapers collected N2 million as ransom for the suspect’s husband to regain his freedom.

Durosinmi vowed not to leave any stone unturned in stamping out crime and criminality in the state.
