Police hunt wife who allegedly sets husband ablaze

The Police Command in Osun State says it has launched a manhunt for a housewife, Ifeoluwa Bamidele, who allegedly set her husband, Bolu Bamidele, ablaze in Osogbo.

According to sources, the suspect set Bamidele ablaze for allegedly having a child with another woman.

Though previous reports said that Ifeoluwa allegedly committed suicide, after committing the henious crime against her husband, family, members, however, said they have not seen any proof that she did so.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, for the Police Command in the state, SP Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the alleged crime in a statement in Osogbo.

The Police image maker said the victim was referred to the University College Hospital (UCH) for treatment where he died around 4:pm on July 19, adding that the suspect was nowhere to be found.

The PPRO said the incident happened at around 11.30p.m on July 17, 2022, at their apartment in Koka community, Ibokun Local Government Area of the state.

“At about 11:30p.m, one Bolu was allegedly set ablaze by his wife.

“The victim was rushed to the Osogbo Central Hospital where he was referred to the University College Hospital, Ibadan (UCH) for better treatment,” she said.
