Police nab 3 suspected Kidnappers in Ekiti

As relations of Mr Mohammed Jamiu, the Chairman/CEO, Always Petroleum energy services Ltd,who was Kidnapped few days in Okene, Kogi state pray for his release by his abductors, the Police Command in neighbouring Ekiti state says it has nabbed three suspected kidnappers in Ekiti state.

The Police Public Relations Officer,PPRO, for the Police Command in the state, DSP Sunday Abutu,who disclosed this in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, said that the suspects:Abdullahi Musa 38, Abdullahi Ali 25 and Abdullahi Suleiman, 19.were arrested in Ijan-Ekiti forest.

According to the Police image maker, the arrest of the suspects was made possible by the Command’s renewed efforts to rid Ekiti of kidnappers and other criminals.

Abutu stated that the operatives, in collaboration with vigilantes, trailed and combed the deep Ijan-Ekiti forest where they arrested the suspects, adding that Musa and his colleagues in crime confessed engaging in a series of kidnaps in the state.

Abutu, who qouted the suspects, said they carried out their henious crime against innocent people at Ikere-Ekiti with seven of their members, four of whom fled.

He assured that operatives of the command were on the trail of the suspects whom he described as syndicate, promising that the command would soon arrest and bring them to face Justice in law court.

Meanwhile, sources close to the family of Jamiu told The Reporters that the Kidnappers had not called his family since he was abducted on Sallah day at his residence in Idare quarters, Okene, headquarters of Okene Local Governnent Area of kogi state.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO for the Police Command in Kogi State,SP William Ovye Aya, who earlier confirmed the incident in a telephone interview with our Correspondent, said Jamiu was Kidnapped by six suspects.

He said the suspects,glad in agbada, claiming to visitors to his home on Sallah day, turned to abductors and forcily took him to unknown destination.

Aya added that the Commissioner of Police in the state,CP Edward Egbuka, had deployed his men to go after the criminals, to rescue Jamiu in safe condition as well as bring the suspects to book.
