New Commandant,NSCDC in kogi assumes duty,stresses hard work

New Commandant,NSCDC, Kogi State Command, John Kayode Oyinloye.

 

The new Commandant, Nigeria Security and Defence Corps, (NSCDC), kogi State Command, John Kayode Oyinloye has assumed duty with a call on the officers of the Command to be conscious and proactive at all times, in view of the security situation in the country.

Oyinloye, who took over from Suleiman Ibrahim Mafara, made the call on Wednesday when he met with officers of the Command at NSCDC headquarters in Lokoja.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSD, Alex Agiri, qouted the new Commandant, in a statement, as reminding the officers on the need to be up and doing in area of their core mandate of protecting Critical National Asset and Infrastructure across the 21 kocal government of the state.

Speaking further, he highlighted some of the issues discussed with the Commandant General of the Corps, Dr. Abubakar Ahmed Audi,Mni in the Corp’s last retreat at the National Headquarter Abuja which he said centred on the need for officers to devoid themselves from age and document falsification.

” Building of guest house that will alleviate accommodation issue for officers on transit to the National Headquarters.

“The Commandant General specifically categorized the job of (NSCDC) into two: Professional and general duties.

“Officers according to the Commandant, should have ICT knowledge as promotional examination will be computer base,”he said.

Oyinloye advised officers to desist from indiscriminate use of social media and stressed the need for them to acquire additional skills ahead of retirement.

He also told officers that efforts were on to rebrand NSCDC vehicles to just two colours: Navy blue and red.

In a separate meeting with the heads of departments and units, the new Commandant appreciated them for contributing to the success recorded by his predecessor and solicited the extension of similar cooperation from them for the success of his assignment.

“We must improve on our service delivery to the public as this will boost the confidence the public reposes on the Corps.

”I admonish senior officers to take their task seriously as their subordinates are watching them.

“I want officers to note that the Commandant General, Dr Abubakar Ahmed Audi mni, is working tirelessly towards improving the welfare of personnel in the Corps and in return, expects high level of service delivery from us” he added.

He called on the Heads of Departments and Heads of Units in the command to monitor and checkmate the excesses of their subordinates, warning that any one found wanting would be severely punished.
