Governor Yahaha Bello of Kogi State has identified cult-free atmosphere, lack of strike by staff and the purposeful as well as result-oriented leadership style of the present management of the state Polytechnic, Lokoja as some of his delights about the institution.
Bello stated this on Friday when he inspected some of the ongoing projects at the Polytechnic.
He, therefore, commended the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Usman Ogbo, his management,staff and students of the institution, for bringing about the positive development being witnessed at the institution now.
The governor attributed the peaceful atmosphere at the Polytechnic as the major factor responsible for the improved learning environment and excellent academic performance of students.
Governor Belli called on the students to maintain and sustain the cheering development, through continued abstainance from cultism, examination malpractice, violence and face their studies with the seriousness for them to come out with flying colors at the end of their educational pursuit.
He promised the Polytechnic of more government assistance to boost excellent learning and conducive working environment for the members of staff of the institution.
The highly elated Bello called on prospective applicants through out the country, seeking to further their education in higher institutions to come to the state for the realisation of their noble ambition, assuring them that they would not regret their decision.
Our Correspondent reports that the governor’s visit is part of his ongoing inspection of projects, preparatory to their commission by President Muhammadu Buhari at a day to be announced.
Other important dignitary dignitaries expected at the proposed commission, according to Bello, include Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in next year general elections in the country.
The Rector of the Polytechnic,Dr. Usman Ogbo, members of his management,staff and large number of students witnessed the colourful occasion characterised by warm reception by students.
The Reporters reports that one of the projects the governor expected during the occasion was the Academic Office Complex, financed by tetfund through its 2016-2019(merged) annual intervention fund.
