Plateau State Law School Students Association (PLALAWSA) has appealed to Governor Simon Along to pay their huge seven years backlog of Bursaries.
The spokesman of the Law School students, Mr J. R. Tahdok, made the plea in a statement he signed and issued on Monday in Jos.
Tahdok explained that since 2015, when Lalong entered Office as Governor of Plateau, he had not paid any law student the bursary, a situation he noted had negatively affected the morale of the students concerned.
He described the development as “disheartening and shameful”, adding that,”all we want is for our Governor to Ponder on this as a lawyer and do the needful by paying the law school bursary.
“Let’s not forget that the anxious beneficiaries are young lawyers who are finding life so difficult. His Excellency knows too well the plight of young lawyers in Nigeria because His Excellency was once a young lawyer, who knows better, ” he said.
He said that PLALAWSA is an association of all Plateau state indigenes who studied Law, from all the recognized Universities all around the world, and subsequently attended Nigerian Law school.
Tahdok expressed the hope that the governor would listen to the plea of the students and pay the backlog bursaries to all the law students as expected.
